Gina LaMonica- Steampunk Assemblage Artist

Gina LaMonica is a steampunk assemblage artist who transforms discarded and unwanted materials into imaginative works of art, giving new purpose to objects otherwise destined for the landfill. She is drawn to items others overlook, seeing potential where others see junk. Using vintage pieces, toys, and plastic, she combines unexpected materials into expressive, thoughtfully constructed creations.
Her work is deeply inspired by the steampunk aesthetic. Gina finds much of her material through scavenging trips to thrift stores and architectural salvage shops, where fragments of the past spark new ideas. By blending aged components with elements of fantasy, she creates pieces that feel both nostalgic and inventive.
Gina’s creative process often begins with a single image, artwork, or found object. From there, each piece evolves organically as she reinterprets it into something uniquely her own. Steampunk assemblage art has provided her with a medium where experimentation, storytelling, and personal expression come together, allowing her to feel truly at home as an artist.
